Big Idea: Power

In Macbeth so far, I have noticed that "power" is something that is valued most. We talked about it at the beginning of the play, and I have really noticed that power as effected a majority of people in the play. We first see the thirst for power when Macbeth kills King Duncan. He does this primely because he wants to have power in being King.

Another time I noticed a thirst for "power" was when Macbeth thought of Banquo and his family as a threat. This thrive for power led Macbeth to kill his good friend Banquo and to try to kill to his son Fleance. It is surprising to me how much one person who do to have so much power. Overall, I think that the play is mostly about conquering power, and that having that power is the big idea.

Free Post (What I love about the beach)

The beach is such a great place to be. It's warm windy atmosphere, and it's atrocious waves hitting the shore; ruining your sand castle you spent an hour on. When I am on the beach it allows me to clear everything out of my head and be peaceful. My favorite beach to go to is the Sand Palace beach in the Bahamas. Every year, my family and I take a trip to the Bahamas. When we get their I beg my parents to let us go visit Sand Palace, but they always shoot me down with a hard "No, not today Sophie." Than that's when I just keep begging and begging and finally they give in.

When we get to Sand Palace the first thing I do is lay my towel down and soak in the sun's blasting hot rays. I lie their for a while until it gets uncomfortably hot, and than I go jump in the crystal clear blue water. All my cousins and I sit in the ocean water on rafts and talk their until are fingers and toes wrinkle up. When we get out the water we usually go up to the bar and ask for virgin daiquiris. Than, thinking I was so cool because I had that drink, I would go lay back down in the sand proudly. To this day, I still recognize that beach as one of the happiest places on Earth.

Macbeth

If you are in a position of power, you are happy.
I disagree with this because having power doesn't always give people happiness. For example, all celebrities sort of are considered powerful either because of their voices or natural talent. This power isn't very favorable at times. Some times when they just want to be left alone, and all they want to do is be a normal person this power can affect them negatively instead of making them happy. This saying ties in with Macbeth because him and Lady Macbeth believe that power is the key to happiness. If he is king of Cawdor he will forever be happy.

Women are more compassionate and less violent than men.
I disagree because in my family my dad is the least "violent" out of all of us. My dad is the only guy because we have my mom and my 2 sisters. Everytime the family as a whole is arguing about what we want for dinner or something stupid, my dad is always the calm one. I also disagree because in Macbeth his wife is urging him to kill the current King of Cawdor, as he is undecided if he should. Therefore, this shows that Lady Macbeth is more violent and less compassionate than Macbeth.
